GSMSota system architecture

GSMSota server

GSMSota server is a master component of this solution which ensures the main functionality for mobile phone setup. The server contains phone database with information about setup parameters and features of each model.

Profile manager

Profile manager represents an administration module which ensures preliminary setup of the main parameters of mobile services such as WAP, MMS, E-mail, PTT, SyncML.

XML interface

XML interfaces are GSMSota server-based interfaces which allow to integrate the existing systems of the operator or service provider with the system of automatic settings.

XML interfaces allow to:

• receive a list of supported phones and detailed characteristics of each model
• request to create a binary message of automatic setting according to the indicated profile and/or parameters
• receive parameters or change parameters of a previously created profile
• identify phone characteristics by IMEI code

Standard scheme to receive settings

• The client requests settings via WEB interface or SMS
• The operator transmits the requested parameters to GSMSota server
• GSMSota server forms settings and sends them via SMS gateway of the operator

The scheme to receive settings without user’s request

• The operator identifies a new device which appears in the network
• The operator transmits the IMEI code of the new device and its number
• GSMSota server identifies the phone model, forms settings and sends them via SMS gateway of the operator

Installation platform and requirements to the system

GSMSota is a Java-based system. This solution runs on a WEB server with Java servlet support and uses a database compatible with JDBC.

To ensure stable functioning of GSMSota system it is recommended that the hardware component of the server should correspond to the following requirements:

• Intel P4 processor or similar
• 1 GB RAM
• 5 GB of free space on hard disc
